Pekon has partnered with Skypower
Corporation (Canada) – one of the
largest wind power developers in
the world with 5000+ MW in various stages of development (www.skypower.com). Together, they intend to set up 500 MW of wind power as IPP in various parts of India.
Pekon offers an infrastructure necessary for power generation, including pre-engineering and feasibility, civil work, electrical work, operations & maintenance and management. The members of the Board of Directors and the Management team bring with them over 80 years combined experience in the power and utility sector in India. This infrastructure serves as a system for technology partners to source components from within India for use in product manufacturing. It also serves as a system for establishing manufacturing facility(s) in India for local market consumption and for exports. These strategies will create a platform for the successful development, construction and operations of projects. The company will be instrumental both strategically and tactically to work with new technologies and take it to the people of India. Pekon has also associated several consultants to help the company successfully foray into this sector.
Shankar Prasad Banerjee,

Mr. S. P. Banerjee graduated in Electrical Engineering from B. E. College, Shibpur with first class in 1966 and started his career with English Electric Co. of India Ltd. from the same year itself. He retired from Alstom Limited in March 2003.
During his long career in English Electric / GEC Alsthom / Alstom Mr. Banerjee has worked in various capacities holding senior positions as Regional Head (Eastern Region) of English Electric, All India Marketing Head of Low Voltage Switchgear Division of GEC. Alstom and finally as Business Head of Electro Mechanical Energy meters of Alstom Ltd.
Mr. Banerjee had management education from IIM, Ahmedabad and IIM, Kolkata. He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Member of Institution of Standards Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
Pekon is currently developing a 100 MW wind power project in
Maharashtra together with Skypower Corporation. The partners are currently undertaking a detailed feasibility study at the site. Implementation of the project is expected to start in 2009.
